Women make up nearly half of the entire United States workforce, accounting for 47% of all employed people in 2021. Despite this balance, men are much more likely to serve in executive level positions, as women hold only 25% of C-suite jobs at the country’s top 1,000 companies, according to the American Association of University Women.
Compared to the entire labor market, the staffing industry generally performs better on these metrics—however, gender disparity still exists. Recent statistics released by the Women Business Collaborative and Staffing Industry Analysts show that while women represent a median 66% of internal workers at staffing firms, they represent only half of executive positions.
At The Barton Companies, we make a consistent effort to elevate women on our team across sales and business operations; about half of the people on our company’s executive team are women. Furthermore, the day-to-day operational leadership positions at our subsidiaries, Barton Associates, Barton Healthcare Staffing, and Wellhart, LLC are held by women. Read on to learn more about five exceptional female leaders at The Barton Companies.

In addition to her role at BHS, Galotto also serves as Executive Vice President of Barton Associates, overseeing more than 500 employees. In 2021, Stolgitis led an initiative to staff a government project that provided care to unaccompanied migrant children at the border. This project deployed over 100 healthcare providers within 72 hours to the emergency intake center.
