Barton Associates is seeking a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Missouri. This 49-day assignment is spread across multiple periods from 06/16/2025, to January 11, 2026, covering night shifts from 6 PM to 6:30 AM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing MICU patients, performing central line and A-line placements, intubations, and managing ECMO, ventilators, and balloon pumps. The role involves caring for 10-14 patients per shift with 1-2 admissions nightly. Experience with Epic EMR is preferred, and an active Missouri license is required. This position also offers the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide critical care to MICU patients during night shifts 

• Perform advanced procedures including central line and A-line placements, and intubations 

• Manage ECMO, ventilators, Impella 5.5, and balloon pumps 

• Care for 10-14 patients per shift and handle 1-2 admissions nightly 

• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and management 

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals 

• Ensure high-quality patient care and follow-up 

• Adhere to hospital protocols and best practices in critical care medicine 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members 

• Participate in any required departmental meetings or training sessions
