Barton Associates is seeking a Critical Care Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Missouri. This 40-day assignment is spread across multiple dates from June 16 to September 2, 2025, with 12-hour shifts from 6 AM to 6 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including removing pacing wires, chest tubes, and drains. Experience with Epic EMR is preferred, and an active Missouri license is required. This position also offers the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients 

• Remove pacing wires, chest tubes, and drains 

• Coordinate care for critical care patients 

• Perform new consults and follow-up consultations 

• Handle occasional admissions and discharges 

• Manage patients with pacemakers 

• Utilize Epic EMR for patient documentation and management 

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals 

• Ensure high-quality patient care and follow-up 

• Adhere to hospital protocols and best practices in critical care medicine 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members 

• Participate in any required departmental meetings or training sessions

Additional Information: 

• Active Missouri license required 

• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
