Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Critical Care Medicine for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in Missouri. This 105-day assignment begins on 05/26/2025, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in the CTICU, managing pre/post-operative care, ECMO, and CT surgery patients. The work schedule consists of 12-hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, following a 7-on/7-off rotation. As a locum tenens provider, you will be responsible for both CTICU and floor work, including documentation, patient management, and collaborating with the attending physician present on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Provide comprehensive critical care services in the CTICU
  • Manage pre and post-operative care for CT surgery patients
  • Handle ECMO cases and related procedures
  • Perform floor work related to critical care patients
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation using Epic EMR
  • Collaborate with attending physicians and hospital staff to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in rounds and patient care discussions
  • Stay updated on current critical care practices and procedures


Additional Information:


  • Must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Missouri
  • Proficiency in Epic EMR is required
  • Experience in CTICU and managing ECMO patients is essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills and attention to detail
