Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Dentist for a locum tenens position at a Private Practice in Virginia. This 120-day assignment begins on 04/28/2025, with a Monday to Thursday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will be proficient in general dentistry procedures, including fillings and crowns. Additional skills in implants and endodontics would be highly valued to minimize patient referrals. The dentist will work alongside another provider, providing comprehensive dental care in a private practice setting. There is also a chance for an extension with this opportunity.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform comprehensive dental examinations and develop treatment plans

• Provide a wide range of general dentistry services, including fillings and crowns 

• Conduct implant procedures and endodontic treatments (if qualified) 

• Utilize OpenDental practice management software for documentation 

• Collaborate with other staff members 

• Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of dental equipment 

• Adhere to all practice policies and procedures 

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental best practices and techniques 

• Communicate effectively with patients about their oral health and treatment options 

• Provide patient education on oral hygiene and preventive care 

• Manage time efficiently to accommodate scheduled patients and procedures 

• Minimize patient referrals by handling a broad range of dental procedures in-house

Requirements: 

• Active Virginia state dental license 

• Experience in general dentistry, including fillings and crown procedures 

• Proficiency in implant dentistry and endodontics preferred 

• Familiarity with OpenDental practice management software 

• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
