Job Description

 We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Massachusetts. This 60-day assignment, starting 06/01/2025, requires coverage for 8-10 hour shifts Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends. The physician will be responsible for managing a variety of emergency cases, including airway management, wound care, cardiac monitoring, lumbar punctures, central line insertion, chest tube placement, IV access, and incision & drainage. Key duties include patient assessment, stabilization, performing procedures, and administering medications as needed. This role offers the potential for extension beyond the initial 60-day period.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assess and stabilize patients presenting to the Emergency Department

• Perform various emergency procedures including airway management, wound care, and cardiac monitoring

• Conduct lumbar punctures, central line insertions, and chest tube placements

• Manage IV access and perform incision & drainage procedures

• Administer medications as required

• Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation and management

• Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals

• Ensure timely and appropriate patient care in a fast-paced environment

• Adhere to all relevant medical and ethical guidelines


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts

• Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department preferred

• Strong communication and decision-making skills essential

• Ability to work efficiently in a demanding environment
