Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at a multi-specialty clinic in Alaska. This 120-day assignment begins on 05/12/2025, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8am to 5pm. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with a wide range of family practice responsibilities, including well child checks, adult visits, women's health, chronic care management, and urgent care follow-ups. As the sole provider, the NP will manage diverse patient cases with 20-minute visit slots. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional to work in a multi-specialty setting using the Athenahealth EMR system, with potential for assignment extension. 


Job Details:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct well child checks and well adult visits 

• Provide women's health services 

• Manage chronic care cases including diabetes, hypertension, and asthma 

• Handle sick visits and urgent care follow-ups 

• Perform minor procedures such as suture removal 

• Diagnose and treat various acute and chronic conditions 

• Develop and implement treatment plans 

• Prescribe medications as needed 

• Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Athenahealth system 

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed 

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines 

• Manage patient flow efficiently within 20-minute visit slots


Additional Information: 

• Alaska Nurse Practitioner license required 

• Experience as a sole provider preferred 

• Strong skills in family practice and urgent care essential 

• Excellent communication and patient care skills 

• Ability to work independently and manage a diverse patient load 

• Comfortable with a fast-paced clinic environment
