 We are seeking a skilled Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment at a multi-specialty clinic in Maine. Starting on 05/19/2025, this opportunity offers a Monday to Friday schedule with full days on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and a flexible half-day for administrative work on Wednesdays. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing primary care cases, with a focus on geriatric patients. As the sole provider in the clinic, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between providers and ensuring continuity of care. This position requires strong clinical skills, independence, and proficiency with Athenahealth EHR system.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide comprehensive primary care services as the sole provider in the clinic

• Manage a diverse patient population with a focus on geriatric care

• Conduct patient examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans

• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed

• Utilize Athenahealth electronic health record system for patient documentation

• Perform administrative tasks and care coordination during Wednesday half-days

• Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records

• Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures

• Provide patient education on preventive care and chronic disease management

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
