Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Family Practice Physician for a locum tenens position at a clinic in Hawaii. This 96-day assignment begins on 11/06/2025, with a potential for extension. The ideal candidate will work Thursday through Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the clinic, with some call coverage. The role involves providing comprehensive family medicine care, including routine exams, acute care, chronic disease management, minor procedures, and emergency stabilization when needed.

Schedule: 8a - 5p shifts for 3 days per week with some on-call coverage

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct routine physical examinations and health screenings 

• Provide acute care for various illnesses and injuries 

• Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma 

• Perform minor procedures including suturing and skin treatments 

• Administer breathing treatments as needed 

• Stabilize patients and arrange transport to nearest ER when necessary 

• Dispense medications from the clinic's dispensary 

• Utilize Athenahealth EMR system for patient documentation and management 

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care 

• Provide on-call coverage as scheduled

• Ensure compliance with all clinic policies and procedures 

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Additional Information: 

• Experience in full-spectrum family practice required 

• Comfort with both outpatient and urgent care scenarios essential 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently in a clinic environment 

• Current Hawaii medical license required
