The NP will work alongside MDs, assisting in a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, urology, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, robotics, and podiatry. Responsibilities and Duties:
• Serve as a first assist to surgeons across various specialties
• Assist in general surgery, urology, orthopedic, plastic, ENT, robotic, and podiatric procedures
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and patient education
• Assist with wound closure and dressing applications
• Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes to the surgeon
• Maintain accurate and detailed surgical records using Epic EMR system
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure compliance with all relevant surgical and ethical guidelines
• Participate in surgical planning and case management discussions
• Adapt to the varying needs of different surgical specialties
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Oregon
• Strong experience in surgical first assist role required
