Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Physician specializing in Geriatrics for a locum tenens position in Nebraska. This 60-day assignment begins on 07/07/2025, with 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM shifts. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing a diverse range of geriatric cases, including high-risk (15-20%), emerging risk (10-20%), and low-risk (70-80%) patients. The primary goal is to maintain the health of the patient panel and reduce hospital admissions. This opportunity offers a chance to provide critical geriatric care while enjoying the flexibility of a locum tenens role, with the possibility of extension.


Job Details: 

Location: Nebraska

Provider Type Needed: Physician - Geriatrics 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive geriatric care to patients with varying risk levels 

• Manage and treat standard geriatric cases 

• Implement preventative medicine strategies to keep patients out of the hospital 

• Accurately code and chart patient encounters using eClinicalWorks 

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes 

• Utilize technology effectively for patient care and documentation 

• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures 

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geriatric medicine best practices and treatment guidelines


Requirements: 

• Active Nebraska state license 

• Board certification in Geriatric Medicine 

• Experience in managing diverse geriatric patient populations 

• Proficiency in preventative medicine techniques 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

• Experience with eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
