We are seeking a skilled Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Connecticut. This 120-day assignment begins on 06/02/2025, with a potential for extension. The ideal candidate will work three days a week from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call or weekend duties. The role involves managing follow-up appointments and basic hematology/oncology cases, with no new consults required. Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and either Wednesday or Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct follow-up appointments for hematology and oncology patients 

• Manage basic hematology and oncology cases 

• Utilize Flatiron - OncoEMR system for patient documentation and management 

• Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals 

• Provide patient education on treatment plans and side effect management 

• Monitor and assess patients' responses to treatments 

• Adjust treatment plans as necessary in consultation with the primary oncologist 

• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures 

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, if applicable 

• Stay updated on the latest developments in hematology and oncology care


Additional Information: 

• Experience in hematology and oncology required 

• Comfort with managing follow-up appointments and basic cases essential 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work efficiently in a hospital environment 

• Current Connecticut NP license required
