We are seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position at a clinic in New Mexico. This 52-day assignment begins on 05/05/2025, with a potential for extension. The ideal candidate will work a week-on, week-off schedule, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for a total of 6 months. The role involves managing a 60/40 split of oncology and hematology cases, including follow-ups and lab reviews before chemotherapy. The physician will also treat a full range of cancer types and both benign and malignant hematology patients.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage oncology (60%) and hematology (40%) cases
• Conduct follow-up appointments and lab reviews before chemotherapy
• Treat various cancer types including lung, breast, bladder, brain, melanoma, esophageal, liver, etc.
• Manage benign and malignant hematology patients (excluding acute leukemia)
• Perform new patient consultations
• Conduct follow-up appointments
• Utilize Nextgen EMR system for patient documentation and management
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and prognosis
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, if applicable
• Ensure compliance with all clinic policies and procedures
Additional Information:
• Experience in both hematology and oncology required
• Comfort with a wide range of cancer types essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a clinic environment
• Current New Mexico medical license required
