Job Description

 We are seeking a skilled Hematologist/Oncologist Physician for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Ohio. This 54-day assignment offers a combination of weekday office/infusion center coverage and weekend hospital rounds, starting 07/01/2025. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with general medical oncology, chemotherapy administration, and oral chemotherapy. Responsibilities include seeing 8-15 patients per day in the outpatient office Tuesday through Friday, with a 50/50 split between hematology and oncology cases for adult patients. The position also involves 24-hour call coverage with morning rounds at two hospitals on the third weekend of each month. This opportunity provides APP support and requires proficiency in creating and maintaining treatment plans for oncology patients, including writing chemotherapy orders.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide general medical oncology care for adult patients

• Administer and manage chemotherapy treatments, including oral chemotherapy

• Create and maintain treatment plans for oncology patients

• Write chemotherapy orders

• See 8-15 patients per day in the outpatient office

• Manage both hematology and oncology cases (50/50 split)

• Perform hospital rounds during weekend call coverage

• Collaborate with APPs and other healthcare providers

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using Epic EMR system

• Ensure high-quality patient care and follow all protocols and safety standards

• Adapt to existing workflows and practices in both outpatient and inpatient settings


Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Ohio

• Experience in both hematology and oncology required
