Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position at a Private Practice in Massachusetts. This 40-day assignment starts on 10/06/2025, with a flexible schedule offering both full and half days. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing chronic cases, conducting physicals, and handling sick visits. This role provides an opportunity to work in a private practice setting, delivering comprehensive internal medicine care. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for patient examinations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-ups, with the ability to perform procedures being a plus but not mandatory.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive internal medicine care to adult patients 

• Manage chronic conditions and perform routine physicals 

• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses 

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans 

• Conduct patient examinations and follow-ups 

• Perform procedures as needed (if comfortable) 

• Utilize rapid tests for flu, COVID-19, and strep when necessary 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Practice Fusion EHR 

• Adhere to all practice policies, procedures, and safety protocols 

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives 

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in internal medicine 

• Collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed


Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts 

• Experience with Practice Fusion electronic health record system preferred 

• Strong expertise in managing chronic conditions and conducting physicals 

• Ability to work independently in a private practice setting 

• Excellent communication skills for patient education and care coordination 

• Flexibility to adapt to the practice's schedule, including holiday closures 

• Possibility of assignment extension beyond the initial 40 days
