Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nephrologist for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in New York. This 120-day assignment starts on 06/01/2025, with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, plus after-hours call from 5 PM to 8 AM and weekend 24-hour call. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing 5-7 patients during clinic days, providing general nephrology care, and handling both peritoneal and hemodialysis cases. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital setting, providing comprehensive nephrology care to patients.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive nephrology care to patients 

• Manage 5-7 patients during clinic days 

• Perform general nephrology procedures and treatments 

• Oversee peritoneal and hemodialysis cases 

• Conduct patient examinations and develop treatment plans 

• Interpret diagnostic tests and lab results 

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams 

• Manage inpatient consultations and rounds 

• Handle after-hours and weekend on-call responsibilities 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using CPSI, Infion for Dialysis, and Medant for Clinic 

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols 

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in nephrology 

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives as required


Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in New York 

• Experience with CPSI, Infion for Dialysis, and Medant for Clinic EHR systems preferred 

• Strong clinical skills in general nephrology and dialysis management 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Excellent communication skills for patient care and team collaboration 

• Flexibility to manage both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities 

• Possibility of assignment extension beyond the initial 120 days
