We are seeking experienced Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioners for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Oklahoma. This 84-day assignment, starting 05/05/2025, requires coverage on a 7-on/7-off schedule, with two providers needed for each week. Night shifts (6 PM to 6 AM) are preferred, including weekends and holidays as needed. The NPs will provide critical care for neurological patients, performing procedures such as central line placement, intubation, and arterial line insertion. Responsibilities include recognizing and managing neurological emergencies and providing ventilator management. Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide critical care for patients with neurological conditions
• Perform procedures including central line placement, intubation, and arterial line insertion
• Recognize and manage neurological emergencies
• Conduct ventilator management (no ECMO required)
• Monitor and assess patients' neurological status
• Interpret diagnostic tests and imaging results
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the ICU setting
• Develop and implement treatment plans for neurocritical care patients
• Communicate effectively with patients' families and healthcare team members
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Epic EMR system
• Participate in rounds and care conferences
• Stay updated on current neurocritical care practices and guidelines
• Ensure compliance with all relevant medical and ethical guidelines
• Adapt to the fast-paced environment of a neurocritical care unit
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Oklahoma
• Neurocritical care certification or extensive experience required
• Strong clinical skills in critical care procedures essential
• Comfortable working night shifts and holiday coverage
• Ability to make quick, accurate decisions in high-stress situations
• Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
