Locum Tenens OB/GYN - New Mexico Needed in NM

Barton Associates is seeking an OB/GYN physician for a locum tenens assignment in New Mexico. This opportunity involves providing 24-hour call coverage for 25 non-consecutive days between May 1 and July 28, 2025. The physician will be responsible for managing both obstetric and gynecological cases, including routine and complicated deliveries, FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesis, and minor gynecological procedures. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable with VBAC deliveries and repairing 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations.

Provider Type Needed: Board-Certified OB/GYN Physician 

Schedule: 24-hour call coverage on specified dates between May 1 and July 28, 2025

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care 

• Manage routine and complicated deliveries, including VBACs 

• Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds, including level 1/screening 

• Conduct amniocentesis procedures 

• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring 

• Repair 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations 

• Perform minor gynecological procedures in office settings 

• Handle obstetric and gynecological emergencies 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Epic EMR system 

• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals 

• Ensure high-quality patient care and maintain professional standards 

• Adapt to the facility's protocols and procedures for OB/GYN care 

• Provide on-call coverage and respond to emergencies as needed

Additional Information: 

• New Mexico medical license required 

• Experience in comprehensive OB/GYN care essential 

• Comfort with managing diverse and complex OB/GYN cases 

• Ability to work 24-hour call shifts 

• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient loads and emergency situations 

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic 

• Potential for assignment extension beyond the initial 25 days
