Barton Associates is seeking a skilled OB/GYN Physician for a locum tenens position in New Mexico. This 14-day assignment is spread across multiple dates from May 26 to July 26, 2025, providing 24-hour call coverage. The ideal candidate will be proficient in handling both OB and GYN cases, including FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesis, routine and complicated deliveries, VBACs, repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations, and office/minor gynecology. The position also offers the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage OB and GYN cases during 24-hour call shifts
• Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds, including level 1/screening
• Conduct amniocentesis procedures
• Handle routine and complicated deliveries, including VBACs
• Repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Provide office-based and minor gynecological care
• Interpret fetal heart rate (FHR) monitoring
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure high-quality patient care and safety during all procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients about their conditions and treatment options
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures
• Manage time efficiently to respond to emergencies and routine care needs
Requirements:
• Active New Mexico state medical license
• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Experience in both obstetrics and gynecology, including complicated cases
• Proficiency in OB ultrasound performance and interpretation
• Comfort with VBAC deliveries and repair of 3rd/4th degree lacerations
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system
• Excellent clinical skills and ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
