Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmologist for a 24-day locum tenens position at a hospital in Indiana. The assignment begins on 07/07/2025, with a schedule of 2 days per month. Each month will consist of 1 OR day for surgeries, handling approximately 12-14 patients, and 1 clinic day seeing around 30 patients. The ophthalmologist will be responsible for providing general ophthalmology services and performing cataract surgeries. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a hospital setting, utilizing the CPSI electronic health record system. The position also offers the possibility of assignment extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform general ophthalmology examinations and consultations 

• Conduct cataract surgeries for approximately 12-14 patients on OR days 

• See around 30 patients on clinic days for various eye conditions 

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye disorders 

• Utilize CPSI electronic health record system for documentation 

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records 

• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards 

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in ophthalmology 

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients 

• Educate patients on eye health and post-surgical care


Additional Information: 

• Indiana state medical license required 

• Strong experience in general ophthalmology and cataract surgeries essential 

• Familiarity with CPSI electronic health record system preferred 

• Excellent surgical skills and patient care abilities 

• Ability to work efficiently in both clinical and surgical settings 

• Comfort with managing a high volume of patients on clinic days
