Locum Tenens Dentist - Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics Needed in MS

We are seeking a skilled Orthodontist for a 36-day locum tenens position at a dental clinic in Mississippi. The assignment begins on 06/16/2025, with a flexible schedule of any three consecutive days per week, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The orthodontist will be responsible for supervising facial growth in children, diagnosing and treating malocclusions, creating treatment plans for braces and retainers, and performing teeth straightening procedures. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a clinic setting, utilizing the Dentrix practice management system. The position also offers the possibility of assignment extension.

Job Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide comprehensive orthodontic care 

• Supervise facial growth (jawline and bite) in children 

• Diagnose and treat misaligned teeth and jaws (malocclusion) 

• Create treatment plans including braces and retainers 

• Perform teeth straightening procedures 

• Install orthodontic appliances 

• Conduct follow-up appointments and adjustments 

• Utilize Dentrix practice management system for documentation 

• Collaborate with other dental professionals as needed 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records 

• Adhere to clinic protocols and safety standards 

• Stay updated on the latest advancements in orthodontics 

• Educate patients and parents on orthodontic care and maintenance

Additional Information: 

• Mississippi state dental license required 

• Strong experience in orthodontics essential 

• Familiarity with Dentrix practice management system preferred 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work efficiently in a clinic setting 

• Flexibility to work three consecutive days per week
