We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiology Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Florida. This 25-day assignment begins on 08/01/2025, with a schedule to be determined. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all STAT categories of cardiac surgery, including first assisting in procedures, pediatric transplants, and ECMO cannulations. The role also involves managing both surgical and medical admissions, performing intubations, and placing central/arterial lines. This facility utilizes Epic EMR.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Assist in all STAT categories of cardiac surgery
• First assist in procedures
• Participate in pediatric transplant surgeries
• Perform ECMO cannulations
• Manage surgical and medical admissions in pediatric cardiology
• Conduct intubations as needed
• Place central and arterial lines
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and other healthcare professionals
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for pediatric cardiac patients
• Monitor and manage critically ill pediatric cardiac patients
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for patient documentation
• Communicate effectively with patients' families and healthcare team members
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures
• Participate in any necessary staff meetings or case conferences
Additional Information:
• Florida Physician Assistant license required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
• Experience in high-acuity pediatric cardiac care essential
• Strong surgical assisting skills necessary
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
