Barton Associates is seeking a skilled Pediatric Critical Care Physician Assistant for a 42-day locum tenens position at a hospital in Texas. Starting on 08/04/2025, this assignment offers flexible scheduling with 10-14 shifts per month, each lasting 13 hours. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a PICU, providing comprehensive care including patient examinations, care plan development, and technical procedures. Job Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on evidence and diagnostic results
  • Perform technical and procedural skills appropriate to pediatric critical care
  • Provide management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and apply evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate on research projects and protocols as needed
  • Utilize Epic electronic health record system
  • Adapt to varying shift schedules including days, nights, and weekends
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced PICU environment


Additional Information:


  • Texas Physician Assistant license required
  • Experience in pediatric critical care strongly preferred
