Job Description

Barton Associates is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment at a private practice in New York. This opportunity involves providing urgent care and sick visit coverage for 6 specific days: May 11, 17, 24, 25, 31, and June 1, 2025. The schedule is from 9 am to 12 pm on these dates, which are primarily weekends. The NP will be responsible for managing predominantly urgent and sick visits, with the potential to see newborns recently discharged from the hospital who require immediate care.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide urgent care and sick visit services for pediatric patients 

• Assess and treat acute pediatric conditions 

• Manage potential cases of newborns recently discharged from the hospital 

• Conduct thorough examinations and develop treatment plans 

• Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies 

• Provide patient and family education on immediate care and follow-up 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using PCC (Physician's Computer Company) system 

• Collaborate with practice staff and other healthcare professionals as needed 

• Ensure high-quality patient care and maintain professional standards 

• Adapt to the practice's protocols and procedures for urgent care visits 

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff in a fast-paced environment


Additional Information: 

• New York Nurse Practitioner license required 

• Experience in pediatric urgent care essential 

• Comfort with managing diverse pediatric conditions in an urgent care setting 

• Ability to work efficiently during specified short shifts 

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly PCC 

• Potential for additional shifts or extended coverage
