We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist specializing in geriatric care for a 40-day locum tenens position in Tennessee. This assignment begins on 05/26/2025 and offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM CST. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing geriatric patients with conditions such as anxiety, depression, dementia, and cognitive issues, as well as developing coping strategies. The role involves overseeing 20-25 therapists, conducting initial intakes, setting treatment plans, collaborating with LCSWs and LCPs, and reviewing patient progress every 30 days. This position requires expertise in geriatric psychiatry and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations for geriatric patients 

• Develop comprehensive treatment plans for various mental health conditions 

• Oversee and collaborate with a team of 20-25 therapists 

• Perform medication management and adjustments as needed 

• Review and update treatment plans every 30 days 

• Provide guidance on cognitive management and coping strategies 

• Collaborate with LCSWs and LCPs in patient care 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Intake Q/Practice software 

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed 

• Stay current with the latest developments in geriatric psychiatry 

• Ensure adherence to all mental health protocols and safety standards 

• Provide consultations to other healthcare providers as required

Additional Information: 

• Tennessee medical license required 

• Board certification in Psychiatry with a focus on Geriatric Psychiatry preferred 

• Experience in outpatient mental health settings is beneficial 

• Strong communication and leadership skills are essential 

• Familiarity with Intake Q/Practice software is a plus
