We are seeking a skilled Psychologist for a locum tenens position at a correctional facility in Arizona. This 52-day assignment begins on 05/19/2025, with a flexible schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with crisis intervention, managing acute psychotic cases, and referring to psychiatrists when necessary. This role offers an opportunity to work in a challenging correctional healthcare environment using the TechCare EMR system, with potential for assignment extension.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Provide crisis intervention services 

• Manage acute psychotic cases 

• Refer patients to psychiatrists for further assessment when needed 

• Maintain overall clinical responsibility for mental health programs 

• Oversee completion of mental health screenings and evaluations 

• Perform sick call visits and chronic care visits 

• Conduct rounds in all units 

• Formulate treatment plans and interventions 

• Collaborate with correctional staff and other healthcare professionals 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using TechCare system 

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines 

• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and administration

Additional Information: 

• Arizona Psychologist license required 

• Strong crisis intervention and acute care skills essential
