Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Urgent Care for a locum tenens position at a healthcare facility in Georgia. This 9-day assignment begins on 04/25/2025, with varying schedules of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing work physicals, DOT physicals, and treating various injuries including back, leg, eye debris, and non-emergency burns. The NP should be proficient in suturing and interpreting basic orthopedic x-rays. There is also a chance for assignment extension.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Perform work physicals and DOT physicals for walk-in patients 

• Treat various injuries, including back and leg injuries, eye debris removal, and non-emergency burns 

• Conduct ear checks and other routine urgent care procedures 

• Provide follow-up care for previously treated injuries 

• Perform suturing as needed

• Interpret basic orthopedic x-rays 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Occuflex software 

• Collaborate effectively with healthcare facility staff 

• Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards 

• Manage time efficiently to handle both scheduled and walk-in patients 

• Provide patient education on injury prevention and care


Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in Georgia 

• Experience with Occuflex software is beneficial 

• Strong clinical skills in urgent care and occupational medicine required 

• Excellent communication skills for effective patient interactions 

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment 

• Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs and injury types
