Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position in Oregon. This 48-day assignment begins on 05/19/2025, with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts Tuesday through Friday, from 9 am to 7 pm. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a variety of urgent care cases, including colds, sore throats, basic sick visits, broken bones, minor injuries, cuts/scrapes, and ear infections. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional to work in diverse clinical settings using the Meditech EHR system, with potential for assignment extension.

Provider Type Needed: Urgent Care Physician Assistant

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 9am-7pm (4 x 10-hour shifts)


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of urgent care conditions 

• Manage patients with colds, sore throats, and basic sick visits 

• Assess and treat broken bones and minor injuries 

• Perform suturing for cuts and scrapes 

• Treat minor burns and ear infections 

• Conduct patient examinations and assessments 

• Prescribe medications as needed 

• Educate patients on health maintenance and follow-up care 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Meditech EHR 

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed 

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines 

• Manage patient flow efficiently in an urgent care setting 

• Adapt to working in multiple clinic locations


Additional Information: 

• Oregon Physician Assistant license required 

• Experience in urgent care or emergency settings essential 

• Strong skills in minor procedures and suturing 

• Excellent communication and patient care skills 

• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions 

• Flexibility to rotate between different clinic locations
