We are seeking an experienced Wound Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens position providing home-based care in Kansas. This 10-week assignment, starting 05/19/2025, requires one flexible day per week, with approximately one hour per visit. The NP will travel to patients' homes to provide advanced wound care services, including initial assessments, debridement, wound rewrapping, and the application of amniotic membrane (AM) grafts as the primary treatment method. Responsibilities and Duties:
• Conduct initial wound assessments in patients' homes
• Perform wound debridement and rewrapping
• Apply amniotic membrane (AM) grafts as primary treatment
• Place orders for synthetic skin or skin grafts as needed
• Develop and implement personalized wound care plans
• Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques
• Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Collaborate with patients' primary care providers and other healthcare professionals
• Ensure compliance with all relevant medical and ethical guidelines
• Adapt to the unique challenges of providing care in a home setting
• Stay updated on current wound care practices and technologies
• Manage time efficiently to accommodate multiple home visits per day
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in Kansas
• Advanced wound care certification or extensive experience required
• Comfortable with traveling to patients' homes and providing care in various settings
• Strong clinical skills in wound assessment, debridement, and advanced treatments
• Experience with amniotic membrane grafts and synthetic skin applications preferred
• Excellent communication skills for patient and caregiver education
