Job Description

We are seeking a licensed Physician Assistant specializing in Wound Care for a locum tenens position in Washington. This 56-day assignment begins on 05/19/2025, with a schedule of either Wednesdays and Thursdays or Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The PA will be managing various types of wounds including diabetic foot ulcers, arterial/venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, trauma, minor burns, non-healing surgical wounds, and complications from radiation. This role is ideal for newer providers as training will be provided in wound care procedures. There is also potential for assignment extension.

Schedule: Wednesdays and Thursdays OR Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM


Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Assess, treat, and manage various types of wounds in a clinic setting 

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients 

• Perform wound debridement and dressing changes as needed 

• Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly 

• Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques 

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care 

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

• Participate in ongoing training to enhance wound care skills and knowledge 

• Adhere to all relevant state and federal regulations for wound care practice 

• Assist in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care services


Additional Information: 

• Must be licensed to practice as a physician assistant in Washington

• Willingness to learn and apply new wound care techniques 

• Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients 

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinic environment
