Nurse practitioners have full practice authority in Nevada. Full practice means that state law permits all NPs to evaluate, diagnose, order and interpret tests, initiate and manage treatments.
Nevada NPs are required to complete 45 hours of CE, at least 15 of which must be in pharmacology. Four must be in bioterrorism, and two must be in safe and effective prescription of controlled substances training. Every four years, NPs must complete two hours of suicide awareness and prevention training.
